While I'm asleep...

Last night the itching from my poison ivy kept me up until 3 a.m. (in spite of the danged steroid shot and anti-itch cream).

It was interesting to see the various combination of cats change at different times during the night. I can only wonder if that happens every night without my knowledge. Relationships that do not exist in the daytime apparently change after I retire for the evening.

I began my attempt at slumber with Colette on my head, Henderson by my side, and Jacob on my feet. Later, Alex replaced Henderson, which was interesting, because she and Jacob do not like to be near each other (they are the two alphas- Alex the household/female alpha and Jacob the male alpha who wants to also be the household alpha, but has not been dumb enough to fully challenge her because he would get hurt). Later, Sally and Bosco replaced Jacob. Eventually noone was on the bed with me until 6:30 when Henderson acted as my alarm clock- by standing on my bladder- a definite way to wake me up!
